Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr has embarked on a tour of Europe, as he plans to check on some of his players, among whom are Turkey-based defender, Kenneth Omeruo.
Also on the list of players Rohr will visit is Aide Brown Ideye who recently had a failed moved to Alaves of Spain on loan from Tianjin Teda of China, who demoted him to the reserves.
Rohr is leaving no stone upturned in his quest to ensure that Nigeria gets a favourable result against Zambia in their next match of the World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria will take on Zambia on the 7th of October in Uyo, a game which a victory will see the Eagles seal their passage to the World Cup 2018 in Russia as it will give them an unassailable lead at the top of the table.
Zambia on the other hand need a win in Uyo to keep their qualification hopes alive after back to back win against Algeria took them to three points behind the Eagles, who are yet to taste defeat in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Sources close to the Eagles indicate that Rohr’s Euro tour is part of his preparations towaard the October 7 decider in Uyo, which the German tactician admits is a crucial tie for him and his players.
With that on top of his mind, Rohr has commenced planning in earnest ahead of the naming of his squad next week, as he departed Nigeria for his base in France, where he will keep tabs on several Nigerian players based in Europe.
