Onazi, Nwakaeme suffer heavy defeat with Trabzonspor

Ogenyi Onazi and Anthony Nwakaeme were in action for their Turkish side Trabzonspor who lost 5-0 away to Yeni Matalayaspor in Turkish Super Lig on Friday night.

Morocco striker Khalid Boutaib was directly involved in two of the five goals while scoring one himself to hand Yeni Matalayaspor a comprehensive win over their rivals who featured Anthony Nwakaeme and Eddy Onazi for the entire duration.

Guilherme opened the floodgates of goals in the 36th minutes before Danijel Aleksic scored a brace in the 38th and 48th minutes.

Guilherme completed his brace four minutes after hour mark, despite the visitors enjoying most of the possession.

Onazi was overlooked from Nigeria’s squad to face South Africa 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg.

The former Lazio midfielder has played 12 games in the Turkish Super Lig this term scoring once.

Trabzonspor are 9th on the log with 16 points from 11 matches. They face Fenerbache next week.
