Onuachu, Dessers fire blank as Makairu’s Anderlecht pip Genk by lone goal

Super Eagles marksman, Paul Onuachu fired blank in Genk’s Belgian Jupiler league defeat to Anderlecht on Friday night.

Onuachu went into the game searching for his 15th league goal of the season, but he was caged by the home side all through the match.

The former Midtjylland striker played for 90 minutes, in a game that also featured his compatriot Cyriel Dessers.

Dessers came off the bench in the 69th minute for Patrik Hrosovsky as Genk desperately searched for an equalizer.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian attacker Paul Makairu was paraded by Anderlecht in the game.

The young man started the match for Anderlecht but he was replaced with eight minutes remaining on the clock.

Lukas Nmecha scored the only goal of the game for Anderlecht from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.
