Genk’s boss Wouter Vrancken is convinced Paul Onuachu will remain with Club, despite strong interest from Club Brugge.
The Belgian Champions are said to be strong admirers of the forward, who has two-year left on his current contract with the Limburgers.
Onuachu however hasn’t hidden his intentions of leaving the club to play UEFA Champions League football, and Club Brugge have reportedly make inquiry about his availability.
Genk’s Sporting Director Dimitri De Condé already informed Club Brugge that a departure of the Nigerian is not negotiable and Vrancken, expects the strike to stay put, after several conversations.
“Those are things the club and Dimitri de Condé are working on. It’s something between Paul and Dimi. Paul is still here and may stay for a long time.
“I have never felt much transfer jitters with him. I spoke to him several times this summer about his transfer wish and he said in a good way that if the opportunity presented itself and he likes the club, he would like to make the move.
“When you score that many goals for three seasons, I completely understand that. But he also indicated that he will continue to go full steam ahead,” He told HLN.
