Paul Onuachu has been handed a late call up to the Super Eagles squad that will face Algeria and Tunisia in the upcoming FIFA international window this month.
The Nigeria Football Federation said in a social media post on Sunday, that the Genk forward will replace Victor Osimhen who has been excused from the game.
“Victor Osimhen has been excused from @NGSuperEagles’ games against Algeria and Tunisia. His replacement is Paul Onuachu.” NFF said in a tweet.
Onuachu is the leading scorer in the Belgian league this season with seven goals from seven matches so far
He was part of Super Eagles that won a bronze medal in the last Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The game against Tunisia and Algeria is slated for the 9th and 13th of October in Austria.
