Onuachu sets new Genk target as Contract winds down

Paul Onuachu says Genk can’t afford to miss out in the Belgian Jupiler league European playoff spot after his inspiring display in the win against KAS Eupen.

Genk demolished Eupen 5-0 on Sunday to keep alive their hope of qualifying for European football next season.

Onuachu contributed three of the goals, while Junya Ito and Bryan Heynen scored a goal each to keep the former Belgian Champions in the race for European football.

Next for Genk, is a trip to Seraing and Onuachu is expecting the players to get the job done over there.

“I think it is especially important that we do an excellent job for the Europe Play-offs,” the Nigerian told Het Belang Van Limburg.

“It would be a blow to our supporters if we were to miss them. This victory should give us a big boost.

“And next week in Seraing, I hope my twentieth. That looks much better than nineteen goals.”

The 27-year-old is Genk leading scorer this season with 19 goals from 28 league appearances.
