Paul Onuachu scored his 22nd goal of the season, as Genk defeated Zulte Waregem 3-2 at the Luminus Arena on Wednesday.
Onuachu’s brace helped his team end their bad run of four matches without a win in the league.
The Forward scored the first goal on the stroke of half time with a well-taken strike. He completed his brace seven minutes after the break, when he converted a corner kick from Bryan Heynen.
Onuachu was left unmarked in the box and easily directed his header into the back of the net.
The goal took his tally to 22 in the campaign, from 23 appearances and he’s now in the race for the European golden boot.
Genk got their third of the game in the 67th minute, before Zulte-Waregem scored twice, late, to set up nervy finale to the end of the game.
Laurens De Bock made it 3 – 1 in the 72nd minute, before Gianni Bruno scored for Zulte-Waregem from the penalty spot with two minute left in the game.
