Onuachu’s first hat-trick of the season lifts Genk to second Spot in Belgium

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu was on target for KRC Genk in the Belgian Jupiler League game against Seraing.

The Nigerian scored all three goals as Genk brushed aside Seraing at the Liminus Arena to get themselves back in contention for the league.  

Onuachu, missed a penalty few minutes into the game, but recovered from the disappointment to score a hat-trick for Genk at the Cegeka Arena.

The 27-year-old missed a penalty in the 33rd minute, before giving his side the lead in the 42nd minute.

Onuachu made 2-0 for Genk two minutes later, after a good work from Japanese winger Junya Ito.

Onuachu completed his hat-trick after converting Genk’s second penalty of the game two minutes into the second half.

It was his first hat-trick of the season and it took his tally for the season to eleven, including, eight in the last five games in all competitions.

The three points moves Genk to joint-second with Eupen and Antwerp with 17 points, 1 point adrift leaders Club Brugge.
