Raphael Onyedika enjoyed another successful outing with Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
The Nigerian midfielder was in action as the Belgian Champions, who finished the game with 10 men, held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw at the Wanda Metropolitano and seal their passage to the knock out phase – with two games to spare.
Onyedika was one of the stars for Club Brugge on the night, playing all 90 minutes and providing sufficient cover in midfield, shielding the backline.
The game failed to produce a goal, but Onyedika as well as Simon Mignolet’s class performance were among the game’s major highlights.
The 22 year-old Nigerian made seven (7) clearances, one (1) tackle, won three (3) tackles and won one foul.
He completed 21 accurate passes (75%), one (1) key passes, and three (3) successful long balls.
Club Brugge sealed top spot in the Group, winning three games and drawing one, with zero goals conceded.
The Belgian side will host FC Porto at the Jan Breydel Stadium in Bruges, on Wednesday, 26th October.
