Onyeka leads Brentford’s fight back at Crystal Palace

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka was back on the pitch at Brentford after being left on the bench past few games.

The wantaway midfielder featured in the 1-1 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Tuesday.

As expected Onyeka wasn’t in the starting eleven, but coach Thomas Frank later brought him on to help salvage a point.

Wilfred Zaha had given the Eagles the lead with a fantastic curler from the edge of the box in the 59th minute, feeding off a Cheick Doucoure assist to grab his fourth league goal in four matches.

And searching for an equalizer, Brentford sent on Frank Onyeka in place of Bryan Mbeumo in the 66th minute.

Onyeka did take the fight to Palace, helping the Bees recover the ball and set the attackers free.

He had 16 accurate passes from his 20 touches overall at an accuracy of 94.1% while also bagging one (1) key pass and another accurate long ball.

The Nigerian international was also immense at the other end of the pitch, contesting six (6) duels and winning two (2), making one (1) interception, one (1) clearance, and committing one (1) foul.

The equalizer eventually came through Yoane Wissa in the 88th minute.

The FC Midtjylland midfielder will be aiming to continue his impressive form when the Bees clash with Leeds United next at Community Stadium, provided his potential loan move to Boro fails to materialize.
