Ruled out for the rest of the season following a knee injury he sustained playing on loan at R.S.C. Anderlecht, Henry Onyekuru already has his mind set on returning to his mother club, Everton and becoming the “Key Player”.
Onyekuru, 20, joined Everton in the summer of 2017 from KAS Eupen but was immediately loaned back to the Jupiler League.
A month into his recovery, the Nigeria International is relishing the chance to lead the Toffees onslaught on the Premier League next season – if he gets the chance.
Onyekuru, who could also be in Nigeria’s World Cup party to Russia, gave his take on how well he thinks the Super Eagles could perform at the World Cup.
“The sky is the limit. I want to become a key player for Everton. Next season, yes. And I think Nigeria can win the World Cup,” the forward said.
