Super Eagles and RSS Anderlecht forward, Henry Onyekuru has disclosed his desire to impress Coach Gernot in a bid to secure a place in the squad for Russia 2018.

The 20-year-old striker admits that his hopes of making the team depend solely on how he performs for his club in the next two months as he has just returned back from an injury layoff.

“I have to prove that I’m able and worthy to go and play – once I do that – it’s up to the manager to select the team,” Onyekuru told BBC.

“I would love to use these remaining games to show I’m back and ready to soar with the Super Eagles at the World Cup” – Henry Onyekuru.

Onyekuru scored Nine goals in 19 league games and has four appearances in the Uefa Champions League because he sustained the knee injury.
