Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has eclipsed one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s record in Italy.
The rave of the moment on Sunday scored a header in Napoli’s 3-0 win against Spezia at the Stadio Alberto Picco, to become the best jumper in Seria A.
He leaped 2.58 metres to head the ball past the goalkeeper, erasing Ronaldo’s record of 2.56 metres for Juventus against Sampdoria in 2019.
The 24-year-old reached a height of 8.47ft (2.58m) – higher than the crossbar (8ft) and according to Corriere dello Sport (via Tutto Napoli), Osimhen set a new Italian Serie A record.
The former Lille forward is still shy of the world record of 2.62m set by Ugandan defender Bevis Mugabi in the Scottish Championship in January 2021.
Osimhen is enjoying a staggering campaign with Napoli as he leads the Serie A scoring scoring chat with 16 goals from 17 games.
He also has three assists for the Partenopei who are on course for their first title in 33-years.
