Osimhen can’t make Man United title challengers — Cole

Andy Cole says Manchester United needs more than Victor Osimhen to be ready for title challenge next season.

Cole, a prominent member of United’s treble winning team in 1999, believes United must build a proper structures to match Manchester City.

United are expected to make changes to the squad that finished third last season, with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst expected to leave Old Trafford.

The Ten Haag side have been linked with host of players, including the Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen who netted 25 times in 31 Serie A appearances for Napoli.

However, Cole believes Osimhen alone can’t push United to the level of the champions, Manchester City who have won the title for three consecutive seasons now.

“No, Manchester United can’t win the league next season. It frustrates me when people think that buying two more players, we can then win the league.

“So why are Manchester City in such a good position if all it takes is buying two players? Make it make sense.

“Two players, including Victor Osimhen, can’t help Manchester United compete for the league title,” Cole said, while speaking on behalf of BoyleSports about FA Cup odds.
