Osimhen claps back at Ikpeba’s ‘unnecessary’ Bicycle kick criticism

Victor Osimhen has replied Super Eagles of Nigeria Legend Victor Ikpeba who criticised him for attempting overhead kicks during the World Cup qualification playoff between Nigeria and Ghana last month.

In his post match analysis of the Striker’s attempts to score from a bicycle kick, Ikpeba said Osimhen should have buried some of the half chances presented to him by the team during the second-leg play off in Abuja.

The former Monaco forward added that the overhead kicks the Super Eagles striker attempted during the game were unnecessary and the team paid for it.

Reacting to Victor Ikpeba’s statement, Osimhen shared his thoughts with an IG post on Wednesday with the caption:

Adie funfun kò mo ara rèlágbà (a Nigerian proverb which means an Elderly person who won’t stay on their lane).

In the slide he added: If you like Judge me, Me self dey judge you, people dey judge our two, this life na judge of the jungle.

Chiming in on the clap back, Nigeria’s Women’s NT captain and Barcelona Ladies star Asisat Oshoala then escalated the situation.

She posted in the comment section of Osimhen’s IG: Werey dem say mk u No Dey do bicycle kick [sic]

Some of Nigeria’s biggest Music Artists and football players found the Napoli Forward’s caption amusing as well.

Obviously enjoying the attention his response to the Ex Super Eagles forward had attracted, Osimhen was edge on.

He replied Oshoala’s comment with an even more defiant post:

I go continue dey do am,no be that pundit go tell me Wetin to do…AGBAYA

Nigeria will miss the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup and it’s the first time since 2006 the Super Eagles are absent from the mundial.
