Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has celebrated Remo Stars’ historic League title triumph by gifting the team N10 million.
The Galatasaray forward praised the club’s determination and resilience, describing their achievement as inspiring.

Osimhen’s gesture highlights his strong connection to Nigerian football and his admiration for one of the country’s rising football institutions.
Remo Stars etched their name in history on Sunday after sealing their first-ever premier division title with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes.
In doing so, they became the first club from southwestern Nigeria to win the league in 25 years the last being Julius Berger in 2000.
Osimhen, who has a personal relationship with Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede currently part of the Super Eagles’ technical setup personally called the team on Tuesday to congratulate them.
He also announced a N10 million gift, split evenly between the players (N5 million) and the coaching staff (N5 million).
Remo Stars’ fairytale journey to the summit of Nigerian football has been nothing short of remarkable.
Founded in 2004 as FC Dender and rebranded in 2010, the Ikenne-based side has risen from grassroots football to national prominence in just two decades.
They clinched the league title with three games to spare, amassing an unassailable 68 points ten ahead of second-placed Rivers United.
They also became the first privately-owned team to win the NPFL since Julius Berger’s title win a quarter-century ago.
With the championship comes a place in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League a prestigious continental competition Nigerian clubs haven’t conquered since Enyimba’s back-to-back titles in 2003 and 2004.
For Remo Stars, the dream continues. While Osimhen’s support further cements his growing role as a football ambassador for Nigeria.
As one of the country’s biggest stars, his backing could inspire other elite players to show similar support for domestic clubs and talent development.
Remo’s triumph could mark the beginning of a new era for club football in Nigeria.
