It was a good day in the office for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as he contributed a goal for Napoli in their 2-0 victory over Sampdoria at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday.
Osimhen who came on as a second-half substitute in Napoli’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the midweek was reinstated into the starting eleven by Coach Gennaro Gattuso.
Osimhen however justified his inclusion when he netted the winner for Napoli with three minutes left on the clock following a pass from Dries Mertens.
Osimhen has now scored five goals in the Italian Serie A this season for the Napolitano side since his record move from Lille of France.
Meanwhile, Piotr Zieli set up Fabian Ruiz scored the opener five minutes after the half-hour mark.
The victory kept Napoli’s hope of qualifying for the Champions League next season alive as they moved within two points of fourth-placed Atalanta with 59 points.
