Our best was not good enough – Musa

Nigerian captain Ahmed Musa says the Super Eagles gave their best in Cameroon but weren’t just good enough.

Musa who is the captain of the team, made the statement on his social media handle, shortly after they arrived in Nigeria.

The Super Eagles failed to advance to the quarter-final of the ongoing 2021 African Cup of Nations, after slipping to a shocking 1-0 defeat against Tunisia.

Ahmed Musa, however, has assured Nigerians that the team would bounce back from the defeat.

“In life, things wouldn’t always go the way we want them to and that’s something we have to accept however hard it is.

“We gave our 100% & unfortunately that wasn’t good enough to take us through.

“We won’t give up, we will do better next time. Thanks for all your support and prayers.” The Karagumruk winger wrote on Twitter.
