Midfielder, Papa Mustapha Daniel is on the verge of sealing a move to Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys from Niger Tornadoes.

The 23-year-old, who has attracted growing attention both domestically and abroad, made a strong impression during the 2024/25 Nigerian Premier Football League season. Daniel scored three goals and registered three assists in 21 appearances, emerging as a key figure in the Tornadoes’ midfield.

His performances not only sparked transfer interest from Europe but also caught the eye of national team selectors.

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle included Daniel in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, marking his first senior national team call-up.

Sources close to the negotiations confirm that talks between Daniel’s representatives and Young Boys are at an advanced stage, with both parties optimistic about reaching a final agreement in the coming days.

The move would represent a significant step forward in Daniel’s career, offering him the opportunity to showcase his talent on the European stage.
