Para Canoeing and Rowing 2019: Alaba, Omoboni Dominate, Alayode Toyin shines

Two champions defended their titles at the 2nd Edition of the Para Canoeing and Rowing National Competition in exciting event at the Lekki Waterside on Saturday.

Metelewonwa Alaba (Kano State) and Omoboni Bosede (Delta State) fought hard in a competitive field to retain their national titles in the KL3 Men A Final and KL3 Women A Final titles respectively.

 

Alaba who also won gold at the National Sports Festival last year, clocked in with an impressive 00:45:53; +7:11 better than his closest rival, in the 200meters event.

 

On her part, Bosede, who represented Delta State at the NSF, finished in 00:58:53.

 

Meanwhile, headliner of this year’s event, Oluwatoyin Alayode (Oyo State) also clinched gold, as predicted, in the KL2 Women A final 200meters race clocking in a rather slow 01:35:98.
