Paralympics Camp Silver medalist, Toyin Alayode headlines National Competition

Athletes at the Para Canoeing and Rowing National Competition had a feel of the testy Looking waterways on Friday, ahead of the competition finale on Saturday.

The three-day event saw classification of Athletes and Coaching seminar concluded on Friday.

 

Headlining this year’s competition is Tunisia Paralympic camp silver medalist Toyin Alayode, who continues to impress as she eyes a place in the African games later this year.

 

In a chat with brila.net she insists the exposure in Tunisia is enough motivation that could drive her desire for top medals on Saturday among other things.

 

Meanwhile there are over 40 athletes in a competitive field jostling for national titles in singles and doubles event in canoeing and rowing.

 

Overall, the Para Athletes have impressed the International Canoe Federation experts on hand to provide technical assistance to the Federation.

 

Speaking with brila.net, a member of the two-man team, JeanChristof Gonneaud assures that Nigeria can build on the passion of the Para Athletes who have the potential to break into top brass at World level.

 

The 2nd edition of the competition which will also serve as pre-trial towards the 2019 African Games qualifiers, is holding at BICS Boat Club in Lagos.
