Patrick Vieira has confirmed readiness to take up Arsene Wenger’s job if contacted by Arsenal, who are searching for a replacement for the Frenchman.
The former captain, however, stated that his former club have not been in contact and that he still has the 2018 MLS season to compete with his current team, New York City FC.
Speaking during an interview with Goal on Tuesday, Viera explained how much he has improved as a coach from the start of his NYCFC tenure to now.
Vieira also gave a detailed response before cracking a smile and pausing to consider the line of questioning.
“If the question is if I’m ready: yes I’m ready,” the 41-year-old said, sending a clear message to anyone who may still be wondering if he is capable of handling a move to coach in Europe.
Arsene Wenger will step down from his Arsenal role after 22years at the end of the season.
