Jose Peseiro admitted that the centre referee was wrong to disallow Ademola Lookman’s the goal.

Lookman put the Super Eagles 2-0 ahead when he tapped into the empty net, but the officials chalked off the goal for an offside.

Replay however shows that the Atalanta man was onside and the goal should have stood.

The Algerians later found their way back into the game, and secured a 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles.

Reacting to the game, Peseiro said the players fought hard for a good result but the officials made it impossible.

“Everybody makes mistake. Myself and the players can make mistakes. We scored a goal that was disallowed,” he argued.

“The penalty I could accept. He shoot the ball before Frank caught him. We must accept. There was no offside when we scored. It should have been 2-0 to us at that point.

“My team fought hard created opportunities. Draw would have been a fair result. Congratulations to Algeria. Fantastic atmosphere, good match.

“It was a good experience for us. Algerians supported their team. It’s good for us to know where we are and move on from there,” Peseiro said.
