The Federation of Cameroon Football (FECAFOOT) could appoint former Super Eagles boss Jose Peseiro as their new head coach.

FECAFOOT is reportedly engaged in discussions with Peseiro regarding the vacant coaching position for the Indomitable Lions.

The position became available after the dismissal of Rigobert Song in the wake of the team’s disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

During his tenure, the 63-year-old guided the Super Eagles to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire, notably defeating Cameroon in the round of 16.

Sources within Cameroon indicate that FECAFOOT has initiated talks with the Portuguese coach regarding the open coaching role.

Peseiro recently concluded his tenure with Nigeria following the expiration of his contract, marking a 22-month stint with the Super Eagles.

The Portuguese will make decision over his career in the coming weeks.
