Peseiro warns Super Eagles against underrating Sao Tome and Principe

Jose Peseiro says his players can’t afford to underrate Sao Tome and Principe in Tomorrow’s African Cup of Nations qualifier.

Sao Tome and Principe lost their opening game against Guinea Bissau 5-1 on Thursday, while Nigeria picked a crucial victory over Sierra Leone in Abuja.

The teams will clash in Agadir Morocco on Monday, and Peseiro said his players must be wary of the wounded São Toméan.

“Our aim here (in Agadir) is to win. I take every game seriously and I expect same from my players.

“The result they (Sao Tome) got against Guinea Bissau doesn’t mean anything.”

“Of course we want to win, but we have to respect Sao Tome and Principe. Most of their players play in my country and they’ll want to do better than last match, so we expect that.

“We must improve our game, our methodology and performance, so I expect full concentration from my players.”

Guinea Bissau lead the group on goal difference, with Nigeria in second place following the first round of Group A matches.

Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe are third and fourth with zero point respectively.
