Mallam Shehu Dikko said NFF President Amaju Pinnick won’t have any problem, should he rescind his decision and decide to seek re-election to the office.
Recalled The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, ruled out contesting for a third term when his current tenure expires.
Pinnick has been under pressure from Nigerian stakeholders and fans for him to resign, following the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
Pinnick has been in charge of the NFF since 2014 and his tenure will expire in September 2022.
“I don’t want to talk about politics and I think the decision is personal and must be respected.”
“He has the right to contest again, and if he stands a chance of winning ?, Yes, because he has done enough.”
“The maximum is three terms according to FIFA statute and it is because they want stability in every Federation.”
“It is only here that we judge administrators on winning football matches alone, and that’s why NPFL always wants to win at all cost. No one is paying attention to developmental programs and other areas, but as long as the team picks three points, we will say the chairman is doing well .”
“I know a club in Nigeria that made close to 1 billion naira from players transfer last year, but people didn’t focus on this. So Football administration goes beyond three points and qualifiers.” He said.
