Plumptre others expected as Super Falcons kick start Preparation for Women’s AFCON Title Defence

Defender Ashleigh Plumptre is expected to be among the late arrivals to the Nigeria WNT camp as preparation for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations commenced, Friday.

19 players have checked in the Falcons camp in Abuja and head Coach Randy Waldrum led the team’s first training session with several big names available, while Plumptre and 12 others are expected to join at different times during the camping.

The 24-year-old Leicester City Women’s defender is expected to arrive on Saturday, along side Francisca Ordega, Vivian Okechukwu, Halimotu Ayinde and Ifeoma Onumonu, but in Morocco.

Meanwhile, among the nineteen players already in Camp, include Asisat Oshoala and Onome Ebi.

Nigeria, who are defending champions, go up against South Africa in their first match at the Prince Heritier Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat on Monday, 4th July.

The 11-time winners, complete their Group fixtures with games against Botswana (7th July) and Burundi (10th July) at the same venue.
