Birmingham City needed a win over Manchester City to take the fight to the last day of the season, but ended up losing 6-0 to the Cityzens at Academy Stadium.
The defeat left the Blues five points behind Leicester with one game to play.
Coached by Lydia Bedford, Leicester City have recorded four wins and one draw in the last five games and they’ll wrap their campaign with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Plumptre, who is the Captain of the team, featured in 19 league games and recorded a goal and an assist.
