Napoli’s striker Victor Osimhen is one of the players penciled down by Mauricio Pochetino to start his Chelsea revolution.
According to the report, Pochetino has agreed to a three-year contract with the struggling Blues and the move would be confirmed very soon.
Pochettino is expected to arrive in London this week to finalize the deal and hold a discussion on his transfer targets.
It is understood that Pochetino wants a new midfielder, defender and a reputable striker, with Osimhen said to be his number one target.
Pochetino would inform the club to get rid of Romelu Lukaku and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to create space for Osimhen in the squad.
The Nigeria striker has been crucial to Napoli’s successful campaign, scoring 23 goals in 29 league games.
Osimhen, one of the hottest properties in Europe also has five goals in six UEFA Champions League games this season.
However, pricing the 24-year-old out of Napoli, won’t be easy as the club is likely to demand a huge fee in the region of €150m.
Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis also said the player isn’t for sale, insisting the Partenopei want to make a strong title defense and hope to challenge in the Champions League after reaching the quarter-finals this season.
Should De Laurentiis has a change of mind, Chelsea will face competition from Bayern Munich, and Manchester United for the striker.
