Porto ends Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge unbeaten run in UCL

Zaidu Sanusi and his Porto teammates got their pound of flesh as they defeated Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge 4-0 in their Champions League clash at Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Recall Club Brugge won the first meeting with the same scoreline at the Estadio do Dragao, and they came into the second-leg buzzing, following their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Porto however appeared to be hungrier as a win would take them closer to reaching the knock out phase, irrespective of what happened between Atletico Madrid and Bayern Leverkusen.

Both players were impressive for their respective clubs, with Sanusi making three tackles, one clearance, and one interception, before he was substituted.

On his part, Onyedika won two duels and completed three long passes However, he made two inceptions and with four ball recovery.

Mehdi Taremi brace (31′ and 70′), Evanilson (57′), and Stephen Eustáquio (60′) scored the goals to give Porto an impressive victory.

Porto now have nine points, four ahead of third-placed Atletico Madrid, who drew 2-2 Bayer Leverkusen.

Club Brugge remain on top of the table with 10 points.
