Raheem Sterling buys 550 FA cup semi-final tickets for pupils

Raheem Sterling has been on the news for good reasons of late, standing up for fellow footballers who suffered racist abuse, speaking up against racism, and he plans to take his humanitarian nature another step further.

Raheem Sterling moved from Jamaica aged five and grew up near Wembley. Raheem Sterling has paid for 550 tickets (plus transport) for kids from his old community school to attend City v Brighton FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday.

 

Sterling 24, has made charitable donations in the past. In 2017 he made an undisclosed contribution to the fund set up after the Grenfell Tower fire in West London.

 

Saturday’s match will be City’s fourth trip to Wembley this season following the Community Shield, the Carabao Cup final and their away game against Tottenham.

 

He also met pupils at the Manchester City’s training complex on Thursday for a tour. the school which was renamed in 2014 has expressed their appreciation in a tweet.
