Ranger goalkeeper, Seidu Mutawakilu has pleaded with Nigeria authorities to lift the ban on contact sports so football could return.
The goalkeeper life has been unbearable for the players for Nigeria professional football league players since the league was suspended back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The kick-off date for the 2019-2020 season is still unknown, but Seidu Mutawakilu wishes that the authorities concerned with health issues do the needful and lift sanctions of contact sports.
“This wait is becoming overbearing. Please, let them start the league,” Seidu said.
Meanwhile, the authorities have granted other sports permission to return, but football and other contact sports will remain ban until further notice, in order not to put any athletes through the risk of contracting the dreaded virus.
