Rangers extended their lead at the top of Nigerian Professional Football League Group A table to six points following a slim 1-0 win against MFM at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.
The Gbenga Ogunbote side came into the game at the back of their midweek 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars of Makurdi, while MFM FC also could manage a draw against the Pride of Benue days before.
Seka Pascal scored the winning goal for the Flying Antelopes in the 26th minute following a defense-splitting pass by Ibrahim Ajani.
The Ivorian has now scored five goals in his last four appearances for the Flying Antelopes in the league, having struggled to hold down a regular shirt following his move from FC Ifeayin Ubah.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side, however, couldn’t find the equalizer before the end of the encounter as the home side withstood everything thrown at them and held on for the maximum three points.
The Gbenga Ogunbote’s tutored side are sitting conveniently at the top of the log with 31 points from 14 games and with two games in hand.
