Sergio Ramos is certainly no one’s idea of a defensive donkey but was happy to be a noble one at the launch event of a new fashion brand.
The Real Madrid captain Ramos has been keeping up to date with the latest trends by attending the launch party of new streetwear label, Noble Donkey, alongside TV presenter girlfriend Pilar Rubio.
Ramos was seen sporting one of the brand’s sweaters from their debut season at the event. The sleeveless number worn by Ramos is available on the website for just €65 (£57).
Noble Donkey is an emerging and contemporary Spanish firm which launched in early 2017.
Alberto Alarcon, the creative director, describes the brand on its website as: ‘Unpretentious fashion, in which comfort and tendency come together and result in versatile garments that inspire streetwear.’
Ramos clearly enjoyed himself at the cocktail party, taking to Instagram to update his followers on the event a couple of times and tagging his posts with ‘#ilostmymind’.
On Tuesday night Sergio was involved in a contentious incident in his side’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund when he appeared to handle the ball in his own box but got away with it.
Post-match Sergio insisted the handball was unintentional.
He said: ‘It was all so quick and it’s true the ball hit me in the hand, but it was totally involuntary. There was no intention to touch the ball with my hand. I don’t think there was anything worth whistling for.
