Foremost African Referee Bakary Papa Gassama has denied reports claiming he apologized for obvious error calls he made during the Eagles vs South Africa encounter.
Speaking to Brila FM’s Anthony Bekederemo in an heated Telephone interview.
The 39-year-old FIFA referee denied talking or apologizing to anyone as it’s been reported in the Nigerian dailies.
’Referees don’t talk to Journalists, Gassama replied Bekederemo who was asking the Gambian Referee to clear the air on the allegations.
The African Most revered Referee further stressed that it’s in the FIFA rules not to apologize or talk after any game.
Gassama was the center referee when the South African Bafana hosted the Super Eagles in an all important AFCON qualifier in Johannesburg.
The Super Eagles held their host to a 1-1 draw that qualified them for the 2019 AFCON to be staged in Cameroon.
