Rivers United returned to winning ways in the NPFL as they beat Jigawa Golden Stars 2-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.
A goal in each half from Godwin Aguda and Cletus Emotan was enough to help Rivers United secure their first three points after a 3-game winless run.
Aguda headed in a superb opening goal in the 17th minute, before Emotan’s goal after the restart in the second half sealed victory for the hosts.
The visitors’s hope of getting something from the match was dashed after the were reduced to 10 men.
Rivers United will now visit FC IfeanyiUbah on Sunday for their match day 15 encounter in Nnewi.
