Two goals in the added time earned MFM FC a point against Rivers United in one of week Nigeria professional football league week 35th encounters on Wednesday.

The Olukoya Boys hosted Rivers United at the Agege Stadium and it was the visitors that drew the first blood eight minutes after kick off.

Chigozie Ihunda sent a cross in from a free kick and Nelson Esor connected perfectly at the far post to give Rivers United the lead at the Agege Stadium.

Rivers United doubled their advantage with ten minutes left to full time when Sunday Adetunji dribbled his way into the box from the right and set up Joseph Onoja who calmly slots into an empty net.

With a few minutes left on the clock, The Pride of Rivers however took their foot off the gas and allowed the home side to rescue a point out of nothing.

The draw is a massive blow to Rivers United dream of picking a CAF Champions League ticket for next season.

However, the Stanley Eguma side remains fifth on the table with 60 points, although just two points behind Nasarawa United and Enyimba in second and third position, while MFM dropped to 11th with 48 points.
