Rivers United boss Stanley Eguma is satisfied with his side’s display in rescheduled matchday 11 win over Enyimba FC.
The experienced gaffer described the victory as a moral booster for his players as they moved up from 7th to 4th position on the table.
Late header from new signing Sunday Adetunji was all the Pride of Rives to secure a crucial win over the side that knocked them out of the CAF Confederation Cup earlier in the season.
Rivers United are now just four points behind league leader Kwara United going into the second stanza of the 2020-2021 campaign.
In his reaction to the result and the performance, Eguma said the boys showed improvement and also delighted with the overall performance.
“It is very important because we have added three points to our first round points,” Eguma told Rivers United FC Media.
“We have moved some steps forward on the log. It is a good thing for us.”
“It’s motivation for the players that there is still hope for tomorrow,” Eguma stated.
