You may never see another picture in 2017 as stomach churning like one of professional footballers prostrating and begging a Governor for their entitlements.
Placard carrying players of Rivers United players took their plight to the government house in Port Harcourt demanding payment of sign-on fees from 2014 and other financial entitlements.
But whatever they’d hoped for was met by the Florentino Perez-sique brute rebuttal.
Compare and contrast: Same Governor Nyesom Wike with footballers – one he treats as a celebrity, the other as less than human.
Mr Wike will pay $millions to bring the Real Madrid Academy to PH while Rivers United players beg for their 2014 wages. 🙁 pic.twitter.com/HAnAdYaH2P— Lolade Adewuyi (@Jololade) December 19, 2017
Indeed Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State and a Real Madrid acolyte, who so heartily shared pictures of his rare meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo, didn’t act regal – or may be he did but in his own way.
In so many ways the sight of the begging players tops the pictures of Taraba FC players sleeping outside the government house in Jalingo.
Owed over 11 months of wages, the players of the Taraba state teams (Taraba FC and Taraba Queens), embarked on a week-long sit in protest.
Dirty business!
