Rivers united will be ready for Bloemfontein despite venue change favouring the South Africans – Eguma

Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side and CAF Confederation cup campaigner Rivers united Stanley Eguma has stated that the Porthacourt based side will be ready for the challenges ahead after the rescheduled Confederation cup second leg tie was fixed for Cotounou Benin Republic.

Eguma speaking in a chat with brila.net said the South Africans have been handed an advantage with Rivers inability to host the game in Nigeria due to the travel restrictions on flight from South Africa because of the Covid-19 protocol.
He, however, said his team will not relent on the task ahead until the qualification job is completed at the expense of the South African club. Rivers lead 2-0 from the first leg.
“All we need do is to prepare ourselves very well, but one thing that is going well for them is we played the first leg at their home, they have their own advantages, we are suppose to also have our own advantage in the second leg but now playing in Cotonou is like we are playing another away. I think it’s a plus to them and minus to us but we will work hard to complete the job which we started in Bloemfontein.”
