Rivers United boss Stanley Eguma, says his team will ready for their clash with Futuro kings in the second leg of the CAF Confederation preliminary round.
Eguma told the press on Friday that his players are in high spirits ahead of the game, despite the injuries to some key players.
Eguma also confirmed that recent signings Theophilus Afelokhai and midfielder Destiny Ashadi won’t be featured in the game, due to injuries.
“Some key players in the team are injured, players like Theophilus Afelokhai, Destiny Ashadi among others are injured, they are key players that we really need their services but we make do with others and they are ready to deliver.
“It’s not going to affect, the players we will use will live up to expectations, the only problem we are having now is for the players to convert their chances because of the nature of the pitch,” he said.
The Pride of Rivers are trailing 2 – 1 from the first leg and only an outright win will seal their passage into the next preliminary round.
Futuro Kings touched down in Nigeria from their base in Equatorial Guinea on Friday with 22 players and 13 officials.
