Super Eagles Technical adviser, Gernot Rohr is adamant that his relationship with Eddy Onazi is fine after media reports claimed there is a palpable discourse between the pair.
Rohr omitted the Onazi from the squad that traveled to South Africa for important 2019 AFCON qualifier clash weeks back after he misses the team’s doubleheader clash against Libya in Uyo and Sfax due to Injury.
While speaking on Monday Night Football, Rohr who failed to reveal why he excluded the Trabzonspor midfielder from the squad that faced South Africa and Uganda, despite returning to full fitness, said the NFF has never interfered with in his team list.
After compiling my list of players for any particular match, l submit to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation and the technical committee. I have to submit for them to approve.
However, there has never been any time where they have asked me to drop a player. That l would not accept,” the coach said.
However, Onazi was reportedly saying he will prove his quality to the people who denied him chance to play at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but Rohr said all is well between him and his vice Captain.
“It is not true that l have issues with Ogenyi,” he added.
Onazi has been playing regularly for his Turkish Club since he recovered from the injury.
