Rohr remains focused amid criticisms over Paul Onuachu’s snub

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr says he’s only focused on the team’s coming matches amid criticism over the invitation of Ahmed Musa and Paul Onuach’s snub for the Afcon qualifiers.

Rohr has been under criticism from the media following the inclusion of unattached Ahmed Musa in the squad for this month’s matches.

Musa left Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr back in October, but Rohr defended his decision, claiming Musa has a non-playing role as the 24th player.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Benin Republic on the 27th of March, before returning home to play Lesotho in the final Group game in Lagos on 30th March.

Speaking ahead of both clashes, the German said its important to remain focused and hope all his players are fit for the matches.

“What is important now is to focus on the games ahead and not to be distracted by anything else. We hope for all our players to be fit and travel down safely for the matches,” He told BBC Sport.

Nigeria sits on top of Group L with eight points, one ahead of Benin Republic while Sierra Leone are third with three points and Lesotho occupy the base with two.
