Senegalese and Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has been voted August’s PFA Player of the Month by fans after an impressive start to the season.
The Senegalese international flew out of the blocks against West Ham on the opening weekend, scoring twice in a 4-0 win.
Eight days later, away at Crystal Palace, he coolly rounded Wayne Hennessey before applying the finish in the closing stages to clinch three points for his side.
Liverpool won each of their three games in August to underline their title ambitions, with Mane their top-scorer.
His performances were enough to earn him an award team-mate Mohamed Salah won on four separate occasions last season.
Mane is also up for the official Premier League Player of the Month prize but faces competition from the likes of Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso, Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy and Lucas Moura of Tottenham Hotspur.
