Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar was missing in action as Almeria secured vital over Ibiza in the Spanish second division game on Sunday.
Umar who is Almeria’s leading scorer wasn’t listed for the game and it was the first time he will be missing a game this season.
Sadiq Umar has contributed 12 goals ( 7 goals and 5) in 15 games and it is safe to say, Almeria missed his service at Estadio Can Mises on Sunday.
In Saudi Umar absence, Dyego Sousa was the hero as he scored the only goal of the game for Almeria.
The Portuguese midfielder converted a penalty in the first half stoppage time to put Almeria in front and it proved to be the decider.
The win increased Almeria’s points tally to 37 in 16 matches. They are six points ahead of Eibar and nine points ahead of third place Real Valladolid.
Almeria will be hoping to have Sadiq Umar available when they host Real Valladolid next week.
