Gothenburg coach Mikael Stahre says Saidu Salisu will need time to settle and adapt to the Swedish league.
Gothenburg signed the forward on loan with an option to buy from Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side Kano Pillars.
The striker is the shining light in Kano Pillars’ turbulent season that saw them relegated from the Nigerian topflight division at the end of the 2021-2022 campaign.
Speaking on the reasons behind the decision to sign the striker, Stahre said he’s confident the young lad would be a valuable addition to the club in the nearest future.
“It will be valuable for us to have him with us for a longer period of time this summer and autumn.
“This allows us to evaluate Saidu further.”
“Saidu’s physique is his main attribute. In addition, he is good in the air and completely fearless.”
“He will need time to get into everything but he has good potential to succeed in Blavitt and the Allsvenkan.” He said.
