Saka outshines Nigerian brothers as Arsenal and Leicester City shares the spoils

Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were involved as Leicester City secured a hard-fought draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

While both players started the game for the Foxes, youngster Bukayo Saka also kept his place in Arsenal’s squad as both teams continued to push for a European qualifying spot.

Arsenal settled into the game quickly and eventually took the lead after Bukayo Saka set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the first goal of the game.

It was Saka’s 12th assist of the season in all competitions and he’s only behind Liverpool’s youngster Alexander Trent Arnold and Manchester City’s Kelvin De Bryune who is on 14 and 19 respectively.

Leicester City responded and Kelechi Iheanacho had the ball at the back of the net moment later, but it was chalked off by the officials after an infringement was spotted in the build-up.

Kelechi Iheanacho saw another effort saved by Emiliano Martinez after he was set up by Jamie Vardy.

Leicester later restored the parity late on in the game thanks to Jamie Vardy who also became the fourth player to score 10 goals against the Gunners.

Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were replaced in the 59th and 82nd minutes respectively.

Saka was also hauled off by Arsenal who finished the game with ten men after Eddie Nketiah was sent off.

There were eight minutes added time and the Foxes dominated, but were unable to find the winner as both sides settled for a draw.

The draw leaves Arsenal in seventh place on 50 points and Leicester in fourth on 59 points.
