Samson Siasia expresses Worry for Amuneke over Tanzania Job

The Tanzania head Coach job could be a poison chalice for Emmanuel Amuneke if he fails, his former national teammate, Samson Siasia has told Brila.net.

Amuneke was recently appointed as Head Coach of the Taifa Stars, but the lack of top quality players in the East African nation could prove decisive according to Siasia.

Siasia says his former teammate, Emmanuel Amuneke could fail to attract a bigger job if he fails to impress with Tanzania.

In the past, Amuneke managed Nigeria’s U17 men’s team, leading them to World Cup victory at 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup.

He also had a brief stint with the national U20 Men’s team before going into club management with Sudan Premier League side, Al Khartoum SC.

“As a coach you always want to take on new challenges and keep improving,” Amuneke wrote on Instagram.

“Honoured to be given this opportunity to develop Tanzania football.”

While his coaching career has been on the ascendancy, Siasia, who has served as Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, said he feels Tanzania is a potential banana skin and it could hurt Amuneke’s chances of securing a bigger job offer should Amunike struggle or fails outright to achieve anything significant with the Taifa stars.
