Samuel Kalu scored his third league goal of the season for Bordeaux in their 2 – 1 defeat to Lyon at Groupama Stadium.
Samuel Kalu who recently returned from injury started his eighth league match of the season for his club.
Lyon went in front through Congolese star Toko Ekambi in the 32nd minute, after capitalizing on poor defending from Bordeaux.
Kalu restored the parity for the Jean-Louis Gasset’s men in the 55th minute with a trademark strike after he was set up by Remi Oudin.
Yacine Adli found Remi Oudin and his cutback was met by Kalu who fired a terrific volley into the back of the next.
Kalu was later substituted in the 76 minutes and it was Nicolas de Preville who took his place.
Lyon got their second with almost the last kick of the game after Maxwell Cornet set up Leo Dubois for the-winning goal.
Kalu’s compatriot, Josh Maja was an unused substitute in the match, but he will aiming to get involved when Bordeaux takes on Lille in their next league game on February 3.
