Rangers forward Samuel Pam scored a goal of the season contenders as Rangers trashed Akwa United at the Nest of Champions in Uyo on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Pam hit a sweet volley with his left foot from the edge of the box to break the dead lock for the Flying Antelopes.
He connected superbly with the ball and the goalkeeper was completely beaten, despite standing in the right position.
The goal reminded football fans of Zinedine Zidane’s wonderful hit for Real Madrid against Bayer Liverkusen in the final of 2002 UEFA Champions League final.
Reflecting on how he executed the goal, Pam said :
“I‘m happy about the goal, the technique and how it went in . We worked really hard in training. So It was a good win for us, and the goal makes it special as well.” He said.
Rangers won the tie 3-0 and it ended Akwa United’s two years unbeaten home run.
